Mike Looney's Documentary Film - The Big Shootout

WWW '67 class member Mike Looney has just released the wonderful documentary film, “The Big Shootout: The life and times of of 1969.”  This award winning film is a documentary about the classic national football championship game between Texas and Arkansas In 1969.  The game was the first nationally televised national championship game and was attended by President Richard Nixon, George Bush and many other well known politicians.
Mike’s documentary features the only interview Frank Broyles, then head coach the University of Arkansas, has ever given regarding the game.   Thus, he broke his 40+ years of silence in regarding the most famous football game ever televised.  Mike’s film also features the last known interview with the late Darrell Royal, who was the head coach for the University of Texas, plus numerous interviews with dozens of players from both teams.
While the football game itself is the centerpiece for this great documentary, it also explores the political and social unrest of the times in 1969.  To watch a two minute overview of this documentary film, please go to or click the video below.
Congrats, Mike!

Our JFK class project continues...

Because our JFK book is a unique collection of memories from Dallas school children in1963 (50 years later), we are sending copies to area public and school libraries.  We are using class funds to cover the cost and will replenish our reunion account with individual donations.  Want to help?  Click the Donate button below to donate online or mail a check made out to WWW 1967 and marked "book donation" to Charlie Taylor, 7911 Xavier Ct., Dallas, TX  75218.  Any amount will help!  As you know, our class account is used as seed money for our reunions ... and do we EVER have a biggie coming up in the not too distant future!  (Yikes!)

Here is our book, '67...

Below are the Woodrow 1967 Classmates who attended the Sixth Floor Museum's "Shared Stories" pilot play, which was inspired by our book of JFK recollections and presented on the Woodrow stage in May, 2012.   (L to R:  Patty Landers Caperton, Betty Benda Montague, Nancy Clark Rubenstein, Kathy Kilmer Moak, Lloyd Harvey (actor), Anastasia Munoz (actor), Warren Pemberton, Karen Killebrew Luter, Janis Bozarth.

Guaranteed to make you smile...

We were in Junior High (most of us, J.L. Long Jr. High) in 1963.  Watch this social guide for junior high school from that year.  It will bring back quite a few memories...many of them cirng-worthy.  What a hoot!
